Cooling Coil ADP / Bypass Factor Calculator
Estimate apparatus dew point, bypass factor and contact factor from a physically consistent wet-coil cooling/dehumidification process.
Wet-coil cooling/dehumidification model. The entering and leaving air states must define a physically consistent straight process line that intersects saturation below the leaving state.
Engineering Method & Assumptions
ADP is solved as the saturation-curve intersection of the straight entering-to-leaving process line in dry-bulb/humidity-ratio space. BF = (T leaving − T ADP)/(T entering − T ADP), with a humidity-ratio BF cross-check. This is not a coil-selection model and does not calculate rows, UA, water temperature, condensate rate, fan heat, or manufacturer performance.
Scope
This is a psychrometric process-line calculation, not a manufacturer coil selection. Verify entering/leaving states, barometric pressure and coil performance against project and manufacturer data.
Useful during psychrometrics & coils work.
- Evaluate moist-air conditions, dew point, condensation risk and cooling/dehumidification processes.
- Check how temperature, humidity and pressure assumptions affect the resulting air state.
- Support coil, cleanroom, comfort and humidity-control discussions with traceable calculations.
