Convert common HVAC engineering units.
Refrigeration Cycle Analyzer & P‑h Diagram
Move from P‑T and SH/SC into a bounded single-stage vapor-compression cycle. HVACR Studio keeps blend dew/bubble states explicit, calculates energy relationships and plots the cycle on pressure–enthalpy coordinates.

Four-state model
- State 1: compressor suction at evaporating dew pressure plus entered superheat.
- State 2s: isentropic discharge reference at condensing pressure.
- State 2: actual discharge from the entered compressor isentropic efficiency.
- State 3: liquid outlet at condensing bubble pressure minus entered subcooling.
- State 4: isenthalpic expansion to evaporating pressure.
- Theoretical COP = refrigerating effect ÷ compressor specific work. Capacity is optional and only then converts specific values to mass flow and kW duties.
Useful during reference & conversion work.
- Resolve unit-system differences quickly across calculations, drawings, schedules and vendor data.
- Look up common formulas, constants and engineering reminders without leaving the HVACR workspace.
- Reduce repeated manual conversion work while keeping the final engineering review with the user.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the tool ask for evaporating dew temperature and condensing bubble temperature?
That keeps zeotropic blends physically explicit. Superheat starts from the dew-point saturated-vapor state, while subcooling starts from the bubble-point saturated-liquid state.
Does the calculated COP equal the equipment COP?
No. It is a refrigerant-cycle theoretical COP from the entered states and compressor isentropic efficiency. Motor losses, fans, pumps, controls, heat gains, pressure drops and compressor-map effects are outside this model.
Can the tool determine compressor efficiency?
No. Isentropic efficiency is an input from an applicable engineering/OEM basis. HVACR Studio does not infer compressor efficiency or envelope acceptance from a generic cycle.
Is the P-h view a full refrigerant chart?
It is a calculated pressure–enthalpy cycle view over the generated saturation dome. It does not reproduce every isotherm, entropy line or manufacturer chart feature.
